Aryon Dudley - #15 Offensive Player of the Week

By Coach Jimmy White

On a rainy, cool night at Billy Seigler Field at Kelleytown Stadium, the Hartsville Red Foxes played their best football of the year in demolishing the Darlington Falcons 41-0, to run their conference record to 4-1 (9-1 overall). On Senior Night, the senior dominated defense held the Falcons to 5 yds. of total offense, overcoming 2 turnovers deep in Red Fox territory to maintain the shutout. Hartsville was in control from the beginning, forcing a .3 and out defense, and drove down the field capped off with a 5 yd. TD run by Aryon Dudley. Jones Tinsley’s PAT was good and the Foxes led 7-0 with 6:20 remaining in the opening quarter.

A fumble out of punt formation gave the ball back to Hartsville with great field position, and Aryon Dudley finished the short drive with a 13 yd. TD run. Tinsley’s point after was good and the Foxes now led 14-0 with 4:01 left in the quarter. In the 2nd quarter, Hartsville's offensive and defensive lines remained in total control of the line of scrimmage and with 9:15 left in the half, Dudley scored his third TD of the night on a 3 yard run on 4th down. With Tinsley’s PAT the Foxes extended their lead to 21-0. Shy McPhail got on the scoreboard with a nifty 39 yard TD run after Dee Reddick caused a Falcon fumble near mid field.

The PAT was good, stretching the score to 28-0 at halftime. After a scoreless third quarter, QB Dequan Benjamin scored on a 6 yd. run, and the PAT ran the score to 35-0 with 11:53 left in the game. Once again, the defense dominated, a Jaleek Addison interception, holding the Falcons on downs after a turnover typified the complete domination by the Red Fox defense. Finally, McPhail added another score, a 5 yd. TD run, to end the scoring when a bad snap prevented a PAT attempt. This made the score 41-0 with 6:09 left in the game.

The Shug’s Smokehouse Offensive Player of the game was Aryon Dudley with 3 TD's and 65 yds. rushing on 10 carries. Shy McPhail’s 141 yds. and 2 TD’s along with Brian Rivers 128 yds. rushing was evidence of a great offensive line performance. The Shug’s Smokehouse Defensive Player of the game went to Jaleek Addison for his interception and overall aggressive play. The Foxes will host a playoff game next week against an opponent to be determined. Go out and support the Foxes. See you there.
